I don’t know about you but, my daily life does NOT permit me the luxury of sitting down with a good book in the peace and quiet. NOPE, ain’t gonna happen people, and I’m glad. One day, I’ll have all the time and quiet in the world but, today is not that day. I have always enjoyed reading a good book but, I cannot have any distractions or forget it. I’ve tried Audible, which is awesome if you can be somewhat still and soak in every sentence as it’s read aloud. I’ve only listened to one book via Audible and I found myself having to replay a lot of the same sections because I would lose track of what had happened. OOPS ? So, in my experience, alone in the car or in the ?sauna?are the only places I can truly retain the details of a book being read to me. Podcasts, however, are different. I’ve been aware of them for years but haven’t really scoped them out until this year. Now, I’m obsessed!
?????What’s the difference??????
?Podcasts are usually somewhat repetitive, going over the important points more than once really helps me to remember what’s going on and this means less rewinding to find what I missed.
?Audio books are literally just the book being read word for word with little to no discussion, unless that is in itself a part of the book.
?Podcasts are comparatively short and sweet or at least segmented into episodes.
At this time in my life, podcasts are absolutely perfect. They feed my desire to learn and be entertained while allowing me to continue my daily duties (hehe duties?).
?I currently have 2 FAVORITE Podcasts?
#1• Serial– I can’t tell you anything about it but you must start at the very first episode of season 1. You will not be disappointed and you’ll find yourself listening to it ANY CHANCE you get. I love this podcast so much that even at the gym instead of music, I was non-stop playing Serial. After you’re finished listening to season 1, head over to their website for more information on the latest updates, you’re gonna want them!
#2• The Tim Ferris Show– This guy is one of my favorite people to listen to. He’s ALWAYS ready to learn from others and share his findings/experiences. I highly recommend episode #243: How to Fear Less with Vince Vaughn & #246: Building Strength, Improving Mindset, and Becoming the World’s Fittest Man with Jason Khalipa.
YOU NEED THESE 2 podcasts in your life-Trust me they’re so good!
Do you listen to Podcasts? If so, what are your favorites?!
